Meds, Vitamins and What I Ate Today! 1/25/2015

I have a ritual I do every Sunday Morning to prepare for the week. I have to get all my Meds and Vitamins ready for the week. It is really a big job, b/c I have to pay close attention to which pill goes into which square. I don't need to mess that up. It could be dangerous!

I had a better day with food and a little better with my water! It is a work in progress! I try to do better everyday, that is all I can do! I hope you enjoy the pics I post!

Weigh In 11 Weeks Post Op Duodenal Switch!

Today marks 11 weeks since I had my weight loss surgery! The day of my surgery I weighed 411 lbs! Today I am 366 lbs! I have lost 45 lbs since my surgery. When I can home from the hospital I weighed 430 lbs all that was fluid, but i am not going to count that b/c that was weight I had already lost and regained and lost again, if that makes sense. My total weight loss since Sept 2011 is 139 lbs, which is amazing to me, b/c I really never saw a big difference until I had my surgery. Wonder why that is?? I mean I could see a difference in between my legs and some in my neck, but no one else noticed till after my surgery which is odd.

I am still struggling daily to get my water and protein in. As much as i used to eat, it is funny how little it takes to fill me up. 1/2 cup of this sometimes less, just depends on what it is.

Even though I had the Atrial Flutter in recovery after my surgery and they shocked my heart twice and have had chest pain and heart palpitations, I do not regret my decision having the surgery at all. I would do it all over again. My heart is fine and I have no blockages. I will be seeing the heart doctor again on Tuesday to discuss the heart palpitations and see where we go from here.

I will be seeing my Surgeon and Nutritionist on Feb. 9th and I hope I can come off soft foods. I need a change! I have gotten bored with the soft food stage and I don't eat eggs. YUCK!!!!

Today has been a good day so far, 34 oz water and 38 g protein, which I know that is not nearly good enough, but I haven't had dinner or snack yet, so I still have some time to get more protein and water in! :)

Pics Before and After My Surgery! 2 Months and 1 day apart! Can you see a difference?

Some Of What I Have Been Eating!

How It all Begin!

Let’s see where do I begin! I was a very skinny child growing up, until around age 10 or 11. I want go into a lot of details, but some things happened to me that made to turn to food for comfort and that is when the weight gain started. I became a food addict at a very young age. I ate all the time. I would hide food in my room and eat when no one was watching. As years went on as a teenager and I got a job I would go through drive thrus and order 2 burgers and 2 fries and sit in my car and eat when no one was looking.
I met the man of my dreams in 1988 and we were married in 1990 and we had our Beautiful daughter in 1993. During all that time my food addiction never slowed down, and the man I married never stopped loving me no matter how many times I dieted and failed. He supported me through it all. I kept gaining weigh over the years, my health was going down hill and my body was taking a beating. I became disabled, because the weight on my joints couldn’t handle it anymore. I was in bad shape.
I reached my all time heaviest weight Sept. 2011 of 505 lbs! I was bed ridden for months. I gave up for a while, but it took a friend being hard on me and telling me the cold hard truth, that I was going to die if I didn’t get my ass out of that bed and help myself. Thank you Susan! I know we didn’t talk a while after that, but I am glad we are talking again. Love ya!
Well I got my ass out of that be.d, starting going back to therapy and counting calories and my pain management doctor advice me to go to pool therapy. Best decision of my life. Loved the pool.
So between Sept 2011 till 11/7/14 I went from 505 lbs to 411 lbs. That is 94 lbs. When I went in for weight loss surgery (duodenal switch) I was 411 lbs, When I came home I was 430lbs and I am now 368 lbs. So I have lost 62 lbs since surgery. My surgery went great, when I went into recovery, I went into Atrial Flutter and they put me in ICU and gave me IV meds to try and turn it around, but it didn’t work, so they had to end up shocking my heart twice. I had no pains at all from the surgery, just very weak from the heart thing. I was 2 months Pre Op 1/7/2015. I am feeling great. I am still having a hard time getting all my water and protein in,  but tomorrow is a new day.
